Wake the city

A public network is a shared board of real places whose current truth is signed and readable by anyone. This season adds cooperative awakening and a faction relay contest on the same resolver as door status plates. No app. No account.

Open the public state board. Every game spot, with Open in Maps links (scan each sticker for live chips).

What a scan proves

Ground truth

Public object truth

Which faction holds a relay, whether a sanctuary is live, whether a temp drop expired, whether a marker is compromised or paused.

Signed updates

Operator and steward bulletins

Lore lines and care/maintenance notices published by the season operator or place stewards.

Cooperation

Shared progress beats hoarding

Some objects evolve only after the group shares clues outward. Hiding information delays everyone’s next chapter.

What a scan does not prove

Not tracked

Who scanned

No leaderboard, streak, XP, heatmap, or per-player scan history.

Not identity

Legal ownership

Holding a sticker does not prove you are the card owner or a faction member.

Not safety

Certification

Game copy never overrides care streams. Players do not mark emergency equipment safe.

Game mechanics (Signal War + cooperation)

Signal War (faction contest)

  • Four factions Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow discover relays across Cedar Rapids. Pledge at a sanctuary or faction treaty wall. Saved on your device only, not a server account.
  • Relays at season open Who holds a relay is public object state everyone sees on scan and the city board. Enter your faction and site code on capture relays to flip holds. Revisit and reinforce before decay returns them to neutral.
  • Sanctuaries never capture Café windows, treaty benches, and faction HQ walls are regroup zones. Rumors and pledge only.

Wake the city (cooperation-first)

  • Public goods River Lantern to style nodes wake shared clues only after the city contributes together. First finder gets a seed, sharing completes the puzzle.
  • Sanctuaries Café windows and treaty benches are regroup zones. No capture, no faction grinding.
  • Trust paths Some doors need a witness seal or nearby vouch. Legitimacy from place-linked objects, not phone numbers.
  • Finale lattice Fragments across Czech Village, Greene Square, and NewBo combine. Solo optimization cannot flip the alley arch alone.

Privacy

Read the operator data policy. Two ideas. Both true:

Privacy

No scan tracking

  • Opening a game QR is not logged by default
  • No trail of who scanned, when, or where
  • No leaderboard, streak, or player dossier built from scans

Public truth

Public object state

  • Collective progress (e.g. 14/20) lives on the object. World truth, not a private score
  • When you choose to contribute, a site code updates that public count
  • We do not store who contributed. Only the aggregate on the object

Season stewards may still revoke markers or pause care streams. That is safety truth, not scan surveillance.
